Massage Therapy Treatments
Balance & Renew Massage Therapy offers a variety of treatments to support you in your wellness journey.
Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is a gentle whole-body therapeutic massage treatment that works the soft tissues and muscles to help restore health - creating a calming and balancing effect on your nervous system.
Benefits: pain management, relaxation, increased circulation, decreased fatigue, and reduced anxiety and depression
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage can offer some much-needed relief if you suffer from chronic pain. This powerful massage technique uses firm pressure to break up tense muscle knots and smooth out the tissue and fascia around them, allowing your muscles to heal faster.
Benefits: relieves stress, reduces pain, lowers blood pressure and heart rate, breaks up scar tissue, reduces arthritis symptoms, and rehabilitates injured muscles.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release applies sustained pressure on targeted areas of connective tissue that surround your muscles and bones. This pressure releases the restriction in the connective tissue, giving you a greater range of motion and reducing pain.
Benefits: increased blood flow, encourages better lymph movement, corrects muscle imbalances, improves nerve function, strengthens the immune system.
Trigger-Point Therapy
Trigger-point massage therapy focuses on specific tight spots in the muscles that often trigger pain in other parts of your body. For example, you may find that you have a headache that's actually been caused by stiffness in your neck and shoulders.
Benefits: relieves tension headaches, alleviates back and neck pain, increases blood flow, reduces inflammation, and reduces the chance of reoccurring pain.
Therapeutic Cupping
This ancient Chinese practice places cups on your body where skin, fascia, and connective tissue are drawn into the cup. This pulls and opens up tense muscles to help release the knots.
Benefits: improves upper back and neck tension, lower back pain, improves blood circulation, breaks up scar tissue, decreases inflammation, and helps in recovery of sports injuries and tendonitis.
FMT Taping
Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting decreases pressure on mechanoreceptors in the underlying tissues and alters the recruitment of underlying muscles. This will result in reduced pain and decreased inflammation in affected areas.
Benefits: positive physiological effects on the skin, lymphatic and circulatory system, fascia, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and joints.
